Infos
BTEA Tourism Passport & Raffle System is a digital initiative designed to engage visitors by encouraging them to explore Bahrain’s attractions. Tourists collect digital stamps at various locations by scanning their passports, earning points that automatically enter them into raffles for exciting prizes. The main objective was to create a seamless, user-friendly experience that made it easy for users to scan, track their progress, and participate in the raffle with minimal friction. One of the biggest technical challenges was that outdoor scanning tablets frequently overheated due to high temperatures, making them unusable. To address this, we added printed QR codes with simple instructions on the kiosks. When scanned, it led users to a mobile web version of the app, allowing them to scan their passports using their own devices and still receive their stamp. The final product successfully gamified tourism in Bahrain, offering an engaging and rewarding way for both tourists and locals to explore destinations across the country.
